"The contact information on our policy was mysteriously changed. Have tried calling for months/weeks no one answers the phone. Called the 1-800 number, zero help but confirmed it was changed by the agents office. Eventually got wind of a laughingly massive rate hike. Decided to cancel. Kept calling, no answer. Called the 1-800 number again told them of cancellation and the date that I wanted it canceled. They had to send the information to Mr. Hallam and I was assured that the agent/his office would have this processed by my deadline/timeline. Today, I got a “thanks for being a customer” letter in the mail with the correct contact information. Odd for multiple reasons. Called their office and got an answering service who muted me. Thought the call dropped so I called back. The person answered but muted me again. So I called the 1-800 people, yet again. Found out today that my policy was still active and they blatantly ignored the cancellation request. Escalated the issue and filed a complaint. The amount of money that is due back to us is no small amount. This absolutely needs to be rectified. If this goes ignored I will call the state and file a complaint with the insurance commissioner. I didn’t want to write a review but if this gets their attention to this matter, then so be it.
It was suggested in their response that we were new customers. No. I sought them out several years ago based on the glowing reviews. I initiated the cancellation through the customer service line because no one would ever answer the phone at Mr. Hallam’s office. The customer service rep and his supervisor who escalated this matter both confirmed that his office received my notice then blatantly ignored my request for cancellation weeks ago. Which in turn is delaying my refund. I am happy that my review was not ignored so maybe there will be a speedy resolution."

"My idea that you are a new customer was a guess since we still don't have any identifying information to contact you from. As I suggested, please email me at jim@jimhallam.net or call 816-554-2100. Yes, we do respond quickly to all forms of communication - calls, text, emails, voicemails and reviews. However, we cannot identify you based on a review. Due to many agents retiring, we have received many customers who have had policy changes and that was why I went that direction. Your cancelation will be processed based on the date requested. We don't avoid cancelations or any policy activities. Again, I am sorry for the communication issues but if youcan please email or call we can get this processed. Thanks!"
